Commercial Real Estate Loan Processor/Analyst

We are looking for a bright mind and up-beat personality that has an interest in a long-term career in commercial real estate finance to join our team. Our new processor will be working directly underneath the two company owners to assist in loan analysis, transaction processing, and loan closings. This position is intended to be an opportunity to accumulate a wealth of knowledge regarding commercial real estate finance and ultimately a stepping-stone into higher positions within our company once enough knowledge is accumulated to effectively understand the nuances and underwriting standards of the variety of loan products our company offers. The position will have a base salary plus potential bonus structure, commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

  • A strong work ethic and commitment to a career in commercial real estate finance is essential. The candidate can expect that the first year or so will be very training-intensive because breadth of our loan offerings, so research/studying outside of office hours to get up to speed may be required for some candidates. However, learning materials and general support will be readily available.

  • Because of the complexity of our transactions and the necessity for a strong foundation in basic financial concepts, a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate or equivalent experience (at least 3 years) in a finance-related job position is required without exception.

  • A large part of this position will be loan underwriting with minimal oversight from management. The candidate must be able to analyze and extract pertinent information from financial statements and tax returns with little assistance.

  • This position interfaces directly with high net worth clients, most of which have extensive experience in the real estate industry and have high expectations of our company because of our reputation in the commercial finance industry. Perfect grammar, patience, and a pleasant personality with a high level of customer service and is required.

  • We are a very high loan volume company that places commercial real estate loans nationwide and continually growing. Flexibility to work past 40 hours a week may be required, especially during our busy seasons.

  • Because we always have several deals in underwriting or in the pre-closing process at all times, ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple files at once as well as an exceptional attention to detail is critical to this position.

  • We pride ourselves on honesty, transparency, and always working in the best interests of our clients, so personal integrity and a strong moral compass is a must. We also work with sensitive financial information, so a full background and credit check will be performed on all candidates before a job offer is put forward. Candidates with any criminal background whatsoever or any serious credit issues will be automatically disqualified from this position.

Job Duties

  • Collecting financial packages from potential clients that match the property type, loan product, and credit standards necessary for that particular transaction.

  • Analyzing operating statements, rent rolls, tax returns, personal financial statements, and other commercial mortgage documentation for a wide variety of commercial real estate types (i.e. office, retail, multifamily, self storage, hospitality, etc.)

  • Client interactions via phone and email. In person interactions will be limited outside of company employees, so a sunny personality that can be construed through electronic communications is vital.

  • Inputting financial information to our proprietary software for loan submission to lending partners.

  • Due diligence and loan processing oversight, making sure third party reports are coming back satisfactorily and closing checklists are being met in a timely fashion. This will also mean working directly with clients to submit all necessary documentation for loan approval.

  • Opportunities to learn other commercial real estate finance skills and about other positions will be readily available so we can benchmark future goals and track next steps for the candidate’s career path.
